Resumo | Abstract

A pesquisa visa desenvolver uma análise e aprofundamento acerca da obra O Retábulo de Altar na Itália Renascentista, do historiador da arte e da cultura: Jacob Burckhardt. O intuito é articular as imagens dos retábulos utilizados em sua pesquisa com os seus postulados e sua fortuna analítica, de modo a endossar aquilo que constituem as suas hipóteses para a Kulturgeschichte (História da Cultura) do período do Renascimento italiano. Para alcançar os objetivos propostos será necessário trilhar um caminho que busca as fontes historiográficas e culturais das quais o autor se valeu para traçar linhas interpretativas acerca do gênero; retábulo de altar. Deste modo, talvez, poderá ser verificado o modo com que ele adensou seu projeto acerca da Cultura no período que ele delimitou como Renascimento. Tentará se lograr, no decorrer da pesquisa, a constituição de hipóteses que têm a cultura como cerne das análises, de forma a perseguir os métodos que Burckhardt aplicou para pontuar a História da Cultura do Renascimento da Itália. Será necessário pontuar que em sua obra, o formalismo não se destaca como elemento principal. Nas suas sínteses, a função das imagens transpassava o contexto cultural da época, em que se produziam as obras de retábulo renascentista. Na concepção do professor suíço, fazia do formalismo estético e dos estilos, portanto, um elemento adicional que se articula em conjunto com a função. Face o exposto, será preciso notar que estas duas partes se combinam para estabelecer todo um complexo cultural e artístico, que para além do Renascimento, formata uma síntese histórico-cultural.

The research aims to develop an analysis and deepening of the work The Altar Altar in Renaissance Italy, by the historian of art and culture: Jacob Burckhardt. The aim is to articulate the images of the altarpieces used in his research with his postulates and his analytical fortune, in order to endorse what constitute his hypotheses for the Kulturgeschichte (History of Culture) of the Italian Renaissance period. To reach the proposed objectives, it will be necessary to follow a path that seeks the historiographical and cultural sources which the author used to draw interpretive lines about the genre; altarpiece. In this way, perhaps, it will be possible to verify the way in which he deepened his project about Culture in the period he defined as Renaissance. During the research, an attempt will be made to establish hypotheses that have culture as the core of the analyses, in order to pursue the methods that Burckhardt applied to punctuate the History of Culture in the Italian Renaissance. It will be necessary to point out that in his work, formalism does not stand out as the main element. In his syntheses, the function of images permeated the cultural context of the time, in which the Renaissance altarpiece works were produced. In the conception of the Swiss professor, he made of aesthetic formalism and styles, therefore, an additional element that is articulated together with function. In light of the above, it should be noted that these two parts combine to establish an entire cultural and artistic complex, which, beyond the Renaissance, forms a historical-cultural synthesis.
