Resumo | Abstract

Em 1951-52, o sociólogo brasileiro Gilberto Freyre viaja por "terras portuguesas" entre Europa, África e Ásia. A viagem se traduziu em vários escritos, abordando um conjunto de problemas surgidos da observação dos caminhos abertos pela circulação de homens e produtos por vastos territórios entre África e Oriente, que desembarcaram nas costas da América Portuguesa. Durante a viagem, buscou valores orientais absorvidos por portugueses e incorporados à cultura brasileira.

In  1951-52,  the  Brazilian  sociologist  Gilberto Freyre  traveled  through  “Portuguese  lands” between Europe, Africa and Asia. The trip was translated into several writings, addressing a set of problems arising from the observation of the routes created by the movement of people and goods  through  vast  territories  between  Africa and the East, which landed on the coasts of Por-tuguese America. During the trip, he looked for Orientalist  influences  incorporated  by  the  Por-tuguese and integrated into Brazilian culture.
